World of Fun Bloopers

Have you ever experienced trying to play games with fate, then with sheer luck you came face-to-face. However, at that percise moment you made this really dumb move and end up laughing at yourself. If "yes", then you know my sentiments. If "no", then please read on.

This is a story of me and my bestfriend (Wella) that began with an ending. You read it right, it all started with the closing of the movie credits, the achievement of your purpose in going to the mall, and the complete nothingness ahead of you. We were armed with knives chasing time and trying to kill it. While hunting (time) we came across 'World of Fun' an arcade or amusement center inside the mall. And here is where the fun unfolds..

Arcades are usually jam-packed with hyper kids playing, shouting and running all around. Fortunately, its Monday and kids are in school. Yipee! We have the space and the chance to play!

We started off with the color wheel. The objective is to guess what color the ball will fall and get tickets as prize. I almost won 60 tickets but the ball stopped right beside my bet. Darn it.. This is not fun, we lost 20pesos for nothing..

We were about to leave when we heard a shriek of excitement and the echo of dropping coins. We jerk around and saw an adult woman delighted with the numerous ticket flowing on her machine. She's even surrounded with other people, more or less the same as her age. Realization came to me that majority of the people playing are grown-ups and the arcade even resembled a casino (the one with the slot machines). Wow! When kids are away, adults are the ones who plays. (LOL)

Excitement and curiosity got the best out of us, so instead of walking out, we walked toward the machines. What you have to do is drop a peso coin strategically to the pile and hope it would push the outer coins near the edge. The more coins that falls, the more tickets you'll earn and there's even a bonus small plastic stub that can be converted to 200 tickets when it gets thrown on the pit.

We ransacked our purses for peso coins and started playing! Wella got the first turn. She feverishly plunge her coins one by one on the machine, suddenly she turned around and said: "Ay, wala na akong coins??". I began laughing because she was so excited that all her coins were gone before she even realized it. The worst part is, not a single coin fell unto the pit. (hahahahahaha!)

Its now my turn. The first 3 drop missed, on the 4th try I was able to land on the right place, then I started getting the hang of it. Until on a sudden burst, the coins started falling on the pit and tickets were coming out of the machine. Yes! I did it! Adrenaline was pumping and we were on the game! Energized, I resume my coin dropping, just to find out: "Where are my coins?"

Determined to win the game I went to the token booth and exchange my bills to coins. Parted half of it to Wella and went to our machine. For a few munites I was infront of the machine trying to pin-point strategic locations. Unsure of how to start I asked Wella: "Ikaw muna", and she responded "Uhmm.." with a long pause. I looked up and saw a guilty face. She again excitedly drop her coins on the machine near us. (hahahaha!).

So on with the game. I was droping my coins on a steady basis, then out from my side Wella screamed. "Wha! wag kang sisigaw.. Kinakabahan ako.", I said to her. The coins were nearing the edge, then the lights on the machine started flashing, Wella grab my arm and screamed. "Eeeeeiiii..". At that point I started laughing so hard that I wasn't able to concentrate on the game. We got a few tickets and decided to exchange it with an item later.

We checked the other players and saw the woman who caught our attention earlier still playing and now with a big pile of tickets on her side. I saw a boy going to a different version of the coin game machine we played. We went near it and I became aware that there were coins stucked on the pit along with the bonus stub! Wella turned on the same time the boy was successful in landing a single coin on the pit. She checked why tickets are not coming out and saw the stucked coins. On that same moment the father of the boy came to check on his son. (This is where the sheer luck and blooper part happend) Wella informed the father about the pile of stucked coins on the pit along with the 200 worth of ticket stub. I was too shocked to react on what happened and did nothing.

We walked back on our machine cause I was still too stunned to speak. The first words that came out of me were: "Bakit mo sinabi?? Sayang yun..." Now its her turn to be stunned. "Ibig sabihin.." I nodded and we again started laughing.

But what goes around comes around. We stayed for awhile and roamed the place. At the precise moment we passed by the machine where the boy was playing. Tickets started coming out without anybody dropping coins. A bunch of teenagers saw it too and grab the tickets. Its kinda weird but what we did was passed by again near the machine, and tickets started coming out. Wella was about to grab the tickets when another boy got it first. She persuaded the boy by these words: "Amin yan eh. Akin na!" The boy got scared and gave us the tickets. We began laughing again and stayed infront of the machine. After 5 munites some of the coins on the edge fell and tickets poured out. We stayed and played the game until we were able to accumulate 215 tickets in total.

We decided to call it a day and went to the counter to exchange our tickets to items. It took us a long time to settle on what to get. In the end we got the same prize: a cellphone lace, a black pony tail and candy each.

For two hours we successfully killed time and made plans to collect peso coins incase we decide to go back and play this addictive and challenging game. Maybe next time luck would be on our side for sure c:
